Introduction
FULL DESCRIPTION OF THE WOMAN, THE CHILD AND THE DRAGON FINAL DEFEAT OF THE DRAGON AND ITS WRATH ON EARTH THREE POINTS FORECASTED PERSECUTION, PROTECTION AND PRESERVATION OF ISREAL
FULL DESCRIPTION OF THE WOMAN, THE CHILD AND THE DRAGON ( Revelation 12:1-6; 16:13,14; 20:2; 11:15; 19: 15,16) A woman that was described in verse 1 on of Revelation 12 is plainly identified in the scripture as Israel. Israel is called a married woman and she is referred to as a mother. So, the woman who travails and brings forth the man child, the Messiah, refers to the nation of Israel. The dragon (Satan) is described as God's enemy. The accounthere takes us back to the time of Satan's fall when he led a rebellion against God in heaven and drew a third partof the angels after him.
The dragon is described as " having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads"( Rev 12:3). The seven crowed head represents seven worldly kingdoms through whichSatan ruled and will continue to rule until he is defeated by Christ. The ten horns symbolize power, might and strength referring to the final form of the ruler-ship over the worldattheending time. FULLDESCRIPTION OFTHE WOMAN,THE CHILD ANDTHE DRAGON In verse five of our text, the Man-Child who is to rule all nations is Christ. Satan could not stop His incarnation and will not be able to stop His coronation. Christian youths should know that though Satan has fought and resisted defeat for a long time,atGod's appointed time,Christwillappear to destroy sin, evil, and Satan's kingdom to establish the kingdomofrighteousness.
1) WHO IS THIS WOMAN WITH SUCH DESCRIPTION AND WHO DOES SHE REPRESENT? QUESTIONS 2) WHAT DOES THE DRAGON IN OUR TEXT SIGNIFY?
FINAL DEFEAT OF THE DRAGON AND ITS WRATH ON EARTH At the time of the fall of Satan, there was war in heaven. The true source of war or conflict is lust, inordinate desire and unholy ambition. Lucifer, who became Satan had an evil desire, prompted by an ambition for self-exaltation. Christian youths must watch over their thought, ambition and desire against lust, these corrupt actions are what stirred his heartto begin war. Revelation 12: 7-12; James 4;1; Isaiah 14:12-15; Ezekiel 28:11-17; Jude 9; Daniel 10: 13,21; 12:1;)
Because of Satan's seeking to rule and to be like the most high, Michael and the holy angels were forced to fight against the unholy ambition of Satan. Thisdid not stop the initial war and conflict. He had fought against him many time and is still going to do so for Israel in the great tribulation. Satan lost the battle and was cast out of heaven, no one can fight against God and win.Youths whorejectGod's plan of salvation throughChristare fightingGod. FINAL DEFEAT OF THE DRAGON AND ITS WRATH ON EARTH
Verse 9 of the text refers to Satan as " that old serpent", this reveals that the real tempter in the garden of Eden was the devil. Deception had been used by Satan since the beginning of the world and will continue with opposing God and the truth. FINAL DEFEAT OFTHE DRAGON ANDITS WRATH ONEARTH God is praised because he has grantedsalvation, the devil who was castout of heavento earthwilltry to hinder as many people as he can from submitting to godthrough woe and sorrow Despite his effort, there will be multitudes of overcomers, youths that are genuinely converted are kept pure and are preserved by the power of the blood of the lamb. God who helped sustain saints of old will give victory to present-day believers
3)WHO IS A TEMPTER AND WHAT ARE HIS ACTIVITIES TO WATCH AGAINST? Questions 4)WHAT IS OUR CONSOLATION IN SPITE OF SATAN'S THREAT AND TEMPTATION?
FORECASTED PERSECUTION, PROTECTION AND PRESERVATION OF ISREAL (Rev 12: 13-17; Dan 7: 21-25; Jer 46:8-10; 47 :2-3; Exo 19:4; Psalm 91:4; Isa 59:19-21 ; 2 Samuel 22:2-7,17-20) The dragon being cast down to the earth will come against Israel and with great wrath knowing his time is short. His attacks will be in three waves ( Rev 12:13,15,17). They may be concentrated at the whole world but will eventually concentrate on Israel. The flood of water is symbolic because it represents a vast army of theantichrist, mighty and powerful enough to overthrow or destroy a whole nation. God will miraculouslyaid Israel to escape the Antichrist to a place of safety and to escape the wrath and the fury of the devil. He will helpthem to escape on the wings of an eagle taking a flightof safety. The imageryof the wings of an eaglespeaks of the speed of flight to safety
It is to be noted that ONLY TRUE BELIEVERS will be raptured before the time of the Great Tribulation. During this time, true believers will be spectators watching from a distance the scenes of the horror, pain and anguish upon the world. To escape the Great Tribulation all believers must ensure they follow and walk after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness and resist the prevailing evil of corruption, vanities and deception of today. FORECASTED PERSECUTION, PROTECTION AND PRESERVATION OF ISREALS
5) WILL TRUE BELIEVERS PARTAKE OF THE GREAT TRIBULATION QUESTION
