  1. Week 19 Vocabulary Ben/bon = good Revisit, benevolent, benefit, beneficial, benign, reference, benefactor, beneficiary, bonus, represent

  2. Benefit (n) Something that is advantageous or good. Two benefits of healthy eating are more energy and a slim waistline.

  3. Benefactor (n) Someone who gives out benefits; a kind helper. Even though Jane didn t know who her mystery benefactor was, she appreciated the extra money they left in her mailbox every month.

  4. Beneficial (adj) helpful. My mom always told me carrots were beneficial to my health and would help my eyesight.

  5. Beneficiary (n) Someone who receives benefits or advantages. Rebecca was the beneficiary of her grandfather s farm thanks to his will when he passed away.

  6. Benevolent (adj) Helpful and charitable His benevolent deeds were appreciated by the charity, they helped the poor tremendously during the winter.

  7. Bonus (n) Something extra. I love Ms. Paris because on quizzes she always gives the best extra credit which leads to me getting bonus points!

  8. Benign (adj) Gentle, harmless, and kind. The benign king was gentle, kind, and a great leader to his royal subjects.

  9. reference (v) Mention in a formal way In a research paper you need to reference each source you took facts from.

  10. revisit (v) Think about or talk about again. If you didn t finish discussing in book club revisit the conversation again tomorrow.

  11. Represent (v) Create a sign or symbol that reminds people of the original idea or object. Numerals (0, 1, 2, 3) are symbols that represent quantities.
