Extra-curricular Coordinator Role: To ensure that all students at Bishop Rawstorne receive a varied and high quality extra-curricular experience. To work closely with colleagues in the development and maintenance of the school s extracurricular programme. The coordination and review of suitability and effectiveness of the extracurricular offering.
Extra-curricular & Personal Development at Bishop Rawstorne Aim 1: To develop and enhance the current offering of extra-curricular and enrichment provision for all students at Bishop Rawstorne. To create an engaging, rich programme of activities across the spectrum of the curriculum to allow all students to flourish, bringing personal growth and development of the whole child. Aim 2: To monitor and record engagement data of extra-curricular/enrichment provision; promoting inclusion and access of opportunity for all students. Aim 3: To foster a culture of collective engagement outside of traditional curriculum time within the school community.

Where are we now? We currently offer a range of extra-curricular clubs/activities within subject areas. Enrichment visits to educational venues E.G. Chester Zoo, Liverpool Cathedral, College visits Foreign visits Guest speakers Literacy events Cultural days (collapsed timetable) Duke of Edinburgh PSHE provision
Ambition 2023/2024 Time table of provision providing a cohesive and clear timetable for students and parents so they know what the extra- curricular/enrichment offer is throughout the year. Visible and updated on the school website and around school for students. Introduce planned house events/competitions opportunities for collective engagement across the school community, raise the profile of the house system and student awareness. Introduced and held inter-house sports, quizzes at Christmas/Easter, pancake race and continue with sports day. Working and meeting with Student Voice. Monitoring of engagement system to gather data on student engagement across sub groups:- SEN/PP/FSM/LAC/FEMALE/MALE, working on a system with Mr Wood. Looking at student voice/engagement/feedback on extra-curricular provision. Development of KS3 (Y7/8/9) Pupil Passport develop and introduce with approval from SLT a pupil passport/pledge document to encourage all students to become involved in extra-curricular activities or wider school activities to support their personal development. Students to make pledges/set ambitions for their personal development each term. Time given in tutor time within the year to review and set next pledge. Opportunities for All increase access and attendance at SEND sporting events, bikeability scheme, links to wider organisations. Development of additional skills for students outside of the classroom research opportunities/access links to organisations. Royal Voluntary Service guest speaker to raise awareness of volunteering Y10, First aid course Y10 students
Moving Forwards Introduction of KS3 Pupil Passport to new intake and current Y7 students approval of document and students using the pupil passport. Calendar of inter-house events provide clarity to tutors and parents about what is going on in school, raise the awareness and increase participation in events. Year group opportunities for additional enrichment qualifications/leadership experiences/wider learning Develop the variety of extra-curricular activities try and appeal to all students
