  4. Public Act 98-0511 Amends 625 ILCS5/11-601(b) Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code to increase the speed limit on rural interstates from 65 MPH to 70 MPH. Effective 1/1/14 Alters the fines for speeding offenses

  5. Public Act 098-0123 Amends 625 ILCS 5/12-212(a) Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code to allow for the use of red or white oscillating, rotating, or flashing lights on Illinois Department of Transportation vehicles designated as Emergency Traffic Patrol. These lights shall only be operated when the vehicle is responding to an emergency call or is on the scene of an emergency. Effective 1/1/14

  6. Public Act 098-0122 New Act- Eff. 1/1/14 Allows a qualifying patient to possess medical cannabis. Must be registered with IDPH Employers CAN still impose drug free work place

  7. Public Act 098-0337 Amends 625 ILCS 5/11-605.1 Creates a separate offense for exceeding the speed limit in a construction or maintenance zone when workers are not present. Limits suspending a person's driver's license for multiple violations of the speed limit for construction zones to violations that occurred while workers were present.

  8. Public Act 098-0506 Amends 625 ILCS 5/ 610.2 Prohibits the use of a hand held cell phones for all drivers. Hands-free is acceptable First offense is not a moving violation and graduated fines
