Preaching The Gospel What Is The Gospel? What Is The Purpose Of The Gospel? What Is The Result Of The Gospel?
Preaching The Gospel What Is The Gospel? Good News The term gospel is used 95 times in the New Testament. euaggelion- 94 [noun] the good news euaggelizo- 19 [verb] preached or preach the good news proeuaggelizomai- 1 [verb] to to announce or promise glad tidings beforehand
And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. (Matthew 24:14 KJV) euaggelion (n) The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them. (Matthew 11:5 KJV) euaggelizo (v) Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. (Galatians 3:7 8 KJV) proeuaggelizomai (v)
Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. (Galatians 3:7 8 KJV) And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be bless (Genesis 12:3 KJV) Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him? (Genesis 18:18 KJV) And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice. (Genesis 22:18 KJV)
Preaching The Gospel What Is The Gospel? What is the Gospel? Good News The gospel in the Old Testament . Gospel or "good news is the (noun) b r , and the (verb) b ar- to announce a message to share good news The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound (Isaiah 61:1 KJV) These words usually referred specifically, to announcements of victory in battle, including good news of God bringing salvation from enemies
How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publishethsalvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth! (Isaiah 52:7 KJV) yeshuah Sing unto the LORD, bless his name; shew forth his salvation from day to day. (Psalm 96:2 KJV) Sing to the LORD, bless His name; Proclaim the good news of His salvationfrom day to day. (Psalm 96:2 NKJV)
Preaching The Gospel What Is The Purpose Of The Gospel? The Gospel is not just factual information, even though it is factual! The Gospel is not a product we sell, but a need we proclaim, live by, and die for The Gospel is for Salvation! Not for betterment or improvement, but for salvation. Not that we don t become better people as a result of it, but if salvation is not intended purpose or result of its proclamation, it becomes null and void!
Is the solution to the problem, the gospel Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh! (Matthew 18:7 KJV)
Is the solution to this problem, the gospel For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always. (Mark 14:7 KJV)
And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, Be savedfrom this perverse generation. (Acts 2:40 NKJV)
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; (Ephesians 6:10 18 KJV)
But I beg you that when I am present I may not be bold with that confidence by which I intend to be bold against some, who think of us as if we walked according to the flesh. For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled. (2 Corinthians 10:2 6 NKJV)
But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul. (Hebrews 10:39 KJV) For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. (Romans 1:16 KJV) And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. (John 20:30 31 KJV)
Preaching The Gospel What Is The Purpose Of The Gospel? The purpose of the gospel is to be preached according to its purpose The Gospel is not to be inferred but proclaimed There must be the telling of the Good news or it is hidden!
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report? So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world. But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you. But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me. But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people. (Romans 10:13 21 KJV)
The Everlasting Gospel Rom 10:13 Joel 2:23 Rom 10:15 Isa 52:7; Nah 1:15 Rom 10:16 Isa 53:1 Rom 10:18 Psa 19:4 Rom 10:19 Deut 32:21 Rom 10:20-21 Isa 65:1-2
Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God s elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness; In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour (Titus 1:1 3 KJV)
Preaching The Gospel What Is The Result Of The Gospel? Life Or Death See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil; In that I command thee this day to love the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it. But if thine heart turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them; I denounce unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish, and that ye shall not prolong your days upon the land, whither thou passest over Jordan to go to possess it. I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, thatI have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live (Deuteronomy 30:15 19 KJV)
What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. (Romans 6:15 17 KJV)
Preaching The Gospel What Is The Result Of The Gospel? Life Or Death Preaching the gospel effects the heart It pricks the heart prick katanusso - to pierce thoroughly (Strongs) ~ to be pierced to the heart, to be deeply pained (Greek-Eglish Lexicon of the Septuagint) Samuel did not see Saul again until the day of his death; for Samuel grieved over Saul. And the LORD regretted that He had made Saul king over Israel. (1 Samuel 15:35 NAS95)
Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. (Acts 2:36 38 KJV)
But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here. Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas, And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house. And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway. And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house. (Acts 16:28 34 KJV)
Preaching The Gospel What Is The Result Of The Gospel? Life Or Death Preaching the gospel effects the heart It cuts the heart Cut ; diaprio -to divide with a saw, saw asunder; to grate the teeth in a rage; pass
Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins. And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him. When they heard that, they were cut to the heart, and took counsel to slay them. (Acts 5:31 33 KJV) Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers: Who have received the law by the disposition of angels, and have not kept it. When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with their teeth. (Acts 7:52 54 KJV)
Preaching The Gospel What Is The Result Of The Gospel? Life Or Death The decision of life or death is not ours to make! We are assigned to proclaim it not to decide its merit or justness! Jesus died for us _ We are responsible for His death Jesus wants to save us _ Because He will Judge Us
