DIVINE DESTRUCTION OF THE UNJUST TEXT: Revelation 8:1-13
MEMORY VERSE: And I behold, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, woe, woe, woe, to the inhabitants of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels , which Revelation 8:13 are yet to sound
INTRODUCTION Revelation is the only book in the new Testament that concentrates mainly on prophesy and it makes use of vision and symbols very often to explain biblical truths. The book continues with the Bible account of God s revelation to man which started from Genesis about the battle between righteousness and unrighteousness and between good and evil.
INTRODUCTION CONTD. Revelation lay emphasis on the need for salvation through Jesus Christ as the only way into a secured eternity. It ends with the description of a new heaven and a new earth, warns seriously against sin and counsels the sinners to repent before it is too late.
INTRODUCTION CONTD. Today s lesson is the continuation of the series of judgement and destruction that will come upon all sinners including boys and girls who fail to repent before they die or before rapture takes place. This lesson will help all sinful boys and girls to see the urgent need to repent, turn away from their bad ways and receive Jesus as their Saviour to avoid the judgment and eternal punishment to come
Three points to consider THE DESCRIPTION OF THE UNJUST DIVINE JUDGMENT ON THE UNJUST JESUS - THE WAY OF ESCAPE FOR THE UNJUST
1. THE DESCRIPTION OF THE UNJUST Galatians 5:19-21, Psalm 53:1-3 Any action that is not right, or anything that is said or done wrongly is unjust An unjust boy or girl displays bad attitude and ungodly behaviour The unjust are sinners who engage in abominable acts such as fornication, witchcraft, lies, fighting, malice, talebearing, false accusation, idolatry, hatred, wrath, anger, envy, disobedience to parents and constituted authority, stubbornness and such as these. Unjust person is a sinner who does unrighteous, he is corrupt and wicked in the sight of God
1. THE DESCRIPTION OF THE UNJUST CONTD. Galatians 5:19-21, Psalm 53:1-3 God made man to be holy, righteous until he yielded to sin and became corrupt. God had promised to punish and turn into hell and all the unjust. As He did in the time of Noah , as He will do at the end of this age. However, He has given us Jesus as the ark of salvation, anyone who repents and accept Christ will be saved from wrath to come Are you saved? Repent now for judgment is coming
2. DIVINE JUDGEMENT ON THE UNJUST Revelation 8:1-13, Psalm 9:17 Seven angels were given trumpets to announce the divine judgement on all sinners on earth. Each trumpet sound reveals the type of terrible judgement that will come upon the wicked. There is certainty of judgement at the end of a sinful life. God judged people in the days of Noah through flood.
2. DIVINE JUDGEMENT ON THE UNJUST CONTD. God rained down fire on the people of Sodom and Gomorrah because of their sins. God will still judge and punish boys and girls who refuse to accept Jesus into their lives. Satanic attack, unanswered prayers, sickness, oppressions, failure . are some ways God punishes sinners today. He delivered the Israelites into the hands of those who oppressed them on several occasions because of their wicked ways.
3. JESUSTHE WAY OF ESCAPE FOR THE UNJUST: Revelation 8:1-13; Isaiah 1:16-20; Hosea 14:1,2 Boys and girls should know that, Jesus is the only way accepted and approved by God Almighty for the unjust sinner to escape the terrible judgement of God Jesus is the way, the truth and the life Boys and girls who are yet to give their lives to Jesus Christ need to accept that they are sinners Confess and depart from all their sins Ask God for forgiveness and total cleansing by the blood of Jesus Invite and receive Jesus into your life now because tomorrow might be late.
1. What makes the book of Revelation very important? QUESTIONS 2. How does the Bible describe the unjust? 3. What are some of God s judgement and punishment for the unjust? 4. Who is the only way of escape for the unjust? 5. How can sinner escape the devastating judgement of God?
LESSON: God will punish unrepentant sinners THOUGHT: I will continue to live a righteous life so as to escape God s judgement. ACTIVITY: Children are to mention three names each from the Old Testament of people who escaped the judgement of God and explain how.
