Rapid Rehousing is a short-term housing intervention in Kern County that connects homeless families and individuals to permanent housing through tailored assistance including supportive services and financial help. The program prioritizes those with primary nighttime residence not meant for habitation, living in shelters, fleeing domestic violence, or recently exiting institutions. Applicants go through assessments and are matched based on a housing list. Assistance includes application fees, security deposits, utility help, habitability costs, rent assistance, and supportive services like housing navigation and financial planning.
