WILF: I can use the concrete method to understand a part of numbers I can understand percentages using the pictorial representation I can understand percentages as part out of 100. I can change fractions to decimals and percentages I can write different percentages as fractions and decimals.   3. T Model: When we say Percent we are really saying per 100 . One percent (1%) means 1 per 100. 1% of the line is shaded green. Its is very small isn t it? 50% means 50 per 100 ( 50% of this box is green).

  4. T Model: Introduction. How many parts is the square split into? How many parts per hundred are shaded? I can see that 75 squares are shaded out of 100. Therefore it Is . To convert this fraction into a decimal: I will do the 75 (numerator) divided by the 100 (denominator). 75 100 = 0.75 75% of squares are shaded.

  8. Reasoning :Circle the odd one out. Explain your reasoning. My Reasoning: Looking at the image provided, I can see A, B and D represents 45%. However C illustrates 50%. Therefore C is the odd one out.

  9. Reasoning 2 Alia and Ben are shown a bar model. Alia says, 9% is shaded 90% is shaded Ben says, Who is correct? Convince me. Ben is correct because Ben is correct because the bar model is split into 10 parts. Percentages are the number of parts out of 100 so 9 needs to be multiplied by 10 to find the percentage.
