  4. 6.3 Describe necessity of design in Architecture. A well-designed building should withstand natural disasters, provide a comfortable environment, reduce its impact on the environment, and be visually appealing. Thus, architecture design is an essential aspect of any construction project that cannot be ignored.

  5. 6.4 Describe design principles in Architecture. From ancient Greek statues to modern graphic design, every art form can be broken down into basic design fundamentals line, shape, form, color, value, shape, and texture. Architecture is no exception and can also be dissected using these basic design elements.

  6. 6.5 Define formal and informal design. A formal definition consists of three parts: the term being defined, the class or category it belongs to, and distinguishing characteristics. An informal definition explains an unknown term using known words, examples, synonyms, or analogies.

  7. 6.6 Define creative and technical design. Creative design involves using computer-generated imagery and digital animation to visualise a product. It aims to produce unique and memorable designs that stand out so that customers may easily identify a brand or product.

  8. In short, the functional design specifies how a program will behave to outside agents and the technical design describes how that functionality is to be implemented in code. The Technical Design Document must be approved by the IT project sponsor before proceeding to the development/integration phase.
