Compare AES and DES AES can be of 128 bits,192 bits and 256 bits wheareas DES key length is 56 bits. DES takes 16 rounds identical operation while AES involves 10,12,14 rounds depending on the key length. AES is more secure than DES. DES is vulnerable to brute force,linear crypt- analysis and differential crypt analysis . On the other hand, there are no known crypt analytical attack against AES
