  4. How to Decide Which Class Delivery Method is Right for You Understanding what is required of you regarding attendance and participation will help you make your choice. Decide how often you can come to campus. Consider your time commitment for school and your other responsibilities (job, family, etc.). Honestly assess your habits regarding independent learning Consider your entire schedule and how many classes you are taking. 4

  5. Keep in mind when considering a Fully 100% In Person Class: Fully 100% In Person means that your class meets traditionally on specific days and times. Activities with teacher/student & student/student interaction will occur regularly in class. You must be present for positive attendance. You are often required to participate with others and engage in classroom activities by interacting with other students, answering questions, participating in groups. Your 100% In Person class will probably also have a Canvas page associated with it where you may receive announcements, review assignment instructions, review grades, and access resources. 5

  6. Keep in mind when considering a Fully 100% Online Class: Online means asynchronous which means that you can complete the coursework in your own time within the timespan provided and noted in the course. So, for example: if an assignment (or module) opens up on a Friday, and an assignment is due the following Friday, you have a week to work on it. Activities with teacher/student & student/student interaction will occur regularly, often weekly. This often counts for your attendance. Your 100% online class cannot have mandatory in- person or web-conferencing sessions at a set time. Instructors, however, often offer optional remote meetings. You are required to sign in to the course regularly and participate and complete assignments. If you have trouble signing in or participating, be sure to contact your instructor. 6

  7. Keep in mind when considering a Live-Remote Online Class: There may be asynchronous (online) aspects for the work assigned just like fully online courses. There will mandatory web-conferencing sessions at a set-time as noted on Schedule+. These sessions count as attendance., Activities and lectures will most often occur in the live-remote portion of the course. Deadlines for activities and assignments required outside of class (homework, assignments) will be noted in the online Canvas course page. Best practice is to have your camera on in the Live-Remote meeting if feasible. 7

  8. Keep in mind when considering a Hybrid Class: Hybrid is the best of all worlds! (Notice the Xs all across the table on slide 3!) There will mandatory in-person and/or web-conferencing sessions at a set-time as noted on Schedule+. These sessions count as attendance. There may be asynchronous aspects for the work assigned just like fully online courses. Activities with teacher/student & student/student interaction will regularly occur in person/remote and online. This participation is counted as attendance, too. You will receive communication from your instructor outside of class time as a reminder of any online work that is upcoming or due 8

  9. Keep in mind when considering an Online w/Required Campus Activities: Online means asynchronous which means that you can complete the coursework in your own time within the timespan provided and noted in the course. So, for example: if an assignment (or module) opens up on a Friday, and an assignment is due the following Friday, you have a week to work on it. Activities with teacher/student & student/student interaction will occur regularly, often weekly. This often counts for your attendance. Please review Schedule+ and your syllabus carefully as to the dates, times, & requirement of your mandatory in-person or web- conferencing sessions. Be sure to note them well in advance so you don t miss them. 9
