The Medical Aid Initiative (MAI) is a student-initiated and student-run program at UCLA focused on reducing medical waste in the healthcare system. By reallocating donated supplies to organizations traveling abroad, MAI aims to address the issue of medical waste and promote sustainability in healthcare. Through specific methods and inventory management, the program has been able to save costs and resources while making a positive impact. The initiative encourages involvement from other schools and calls for increased support to expand its reach and address barriers to growth.
