  1. LEICESTERSHIRE SCHOOLS MUSIC SERVICE TURNTABLISM UNITS What is Turntablism? The history of the pilot version What is the model of the project? A 6 and 12 lesson unit on offer for Primary and Secondary A Day of CPD for teachers Every lesson is fully resourced with online PowerPoint slides, interactive tutorial practise clips, written lesson plans and all the activity handouts required for the lesson. Loan of a full class set of equipment for up to 32 learners

  2. LEICESTERSHIRE SCHOOLS MUSIC SERVICE TURNTABLISM UNITS When planning a project, aim to keep every stakeholder happy! Teachers: Robust resources, engaging / attainable / well-paced musical learning, differentiation, formative and summative assessment, learning outcomes, covering breadth of curriculum. Senior Leaders: Good and outstanding planned lessons, clear progress over time, assessment data, good value for money / price per pupil, CPD for staff. Pupils: Fun, attainable but challenging, purposeful / contextual learning. ACE: Access to diverse genres, effective use of technology progression opportunities (performance / continued learning / joining a musical community), CPD for staff.

  3. LEICESTERSHIRE SCHOOLS MUSIC SERVICE TURNTABLISM UNITS Unit in action: Short video What next? Creating more digital resources for independent progression and online practise. County battle competition for pupils giving purposeful incentive for progression. To expand the art form and give access to more young people, LSMS are looking to develop partnerships with other Music HUBS to set up sustainable Turntablism projects and WCETs in other areas of the country.
