TSSSA Timeline and Funding Timeline Develop a plan and a budget for all 6 schools by the end of June Submit school plans to the Bureau of School Improvement (BSI) June 30th (Plans submitted are based on 18-19 School Grades) Submit plans (and budgets) to the School Board for the August, 2020 Board meeting Develop a district plan to submit to the Board once the individual school plans are approved by BSI. The district plan will address the sustainability of the school plans once each school no longer qualifies for the TSSSA allocation Funding Each school district s allocation is calculated on the unweighted FTE at each eligible school and a per-student FTE funding amount of $500
TSSSA Eligibility Three criteria for eligibility: 1. A school that is implementing a district-managed turnaround plan 1. A school that has earned three consecutive grades below a C Holm Elementary, Warrington Elementary, Warrington Middle 3. A school that has improved to a C and is no longer in turnaround status within the last two years Ensley Elementary, Global Learning Academy, Navy Point Elementary

TSSSA Service Models 1. Services may include, but are not limited to: tutorial and after-school programs student counseling nutrition counseling parental counseling extended day and school year In addition, services may include models that: develop a culture that encourages students to complete high school and to attend college or career training set high academic expectations inspire character development
TSSSA Service Models 2. A school district may enter into a formal agreement with a nonprofit organization to implement an integrated support service model that provides wrap-around services, including, but not limited to: health services after-school programs drug prevention programs college and career readiness programs food and clothing banks

TSSSA Requirements Establish clearly defined and measurable high academic and character standards Bi-monthly data review meetings with school and district staff Student goals set for STAR, i-Ready, Study Island, Accelerated Reader Increase parental involvement and engagement in the child s education Family data chats/ academic nights (Virtual options) Parent Transportation to medical/dental/school appointments
TSSSA Requirements Identify, recruit, retain, and reward instructional personnel Teacher stipends for standards-based planning START, Curriculum Coordinator, Administrator on special assignment, and district content specialists and coach support Provide professional development that focuses on academic rigor, direct instruction, and creating high academic and character standards Southern Regional Education Board (SREB) math and ELA support - professional development, lesson study development, coaching support (Virtual support) Math and ELA coaches hired to support teachers and students Support and resources that focus on closing the achievement gap for vulnerable students
TSSSA Requirements Provide focused instruction to improve student academic proficiency, which may include additional instruction time beyond the normal school day or school year Summer academic programs and after school tutoring (face to face and virtual) Curriculum materials (supplies, books, manipulatives) to support face to face and remote learning Continue to provide services after the school(s) is/are no longer in turnaround status by virtue of achieving a grade of C or higher Use Title I, II, and IV to continue programs and services
