Transportation Safety Trends and Initiatives in Central Oregon
Central Oregon, particularly in Deschutes, Crook, and Jefferson Counties, has seen fluctuations in transportation-related fatalities over the years. The region has experienced a rise in pedestrian fatalities and overall fatalities, prompting the initiation of Transportation Safety Action Plans across different counties. These plans aim to enhance road safety and reduce accidents, with a focus on updating existing plans and creating new ones funded by federal grants.
