This is Why Your Ford F-150 Heater is Not Working

This is Why Your Ford F-
150 Heater is Not Working
Winter is here…
You’re going to need the heater more
than ever.
This presentation aims to help Ford F-150
owners diagnose issues in their heater.
Here’s what we have covered:
#1- Reasons why
Ford F-150 heater
may stop working
#2- How to get it
functioning again
Common Reasons for
Heater Failure
If your Ford F-150’s heater is not working as it
should, the reason could be:
#1- DEPLETED
ANTIFREEZE LEVEL
The antifreeze acts as a heat
transfer medium… responsible for
conveying engine heat to the
heater core.
If its level depletes, the heater
won’t be able to produce the
necessary warmth.
#2- DEFECTIVE
THERMOSTAT
The thermostat regulates
coolant flow into the engine.
If it is stuck open, the engine
temperature will plummet
drastically.
There won’t be enough heat
available for the heater to blow
warm air into the cabin.
#3- HEATER CORE IS
CLOGGED
The heat radiated by the heater
core is what keeps the cabin
temperature warm.
The heater won’t work if engine
heat fails to get into the heater core
because of debris accumulation.
#4- FAULTY BLOWER
MOTOR
The blower motor is the
component that controls heat
delivery into the cabin.
If it acts up, there won’t be any
heat delivered into the cabin.
#5- DAMAGED BLOWER
MOTOR RESISTOR
At what speed the blower fan
should operate is regulated by
a resistor.
If there is something off with
this resistor, speed of the blower
fan will fluctuate erratically.
The fan may even cease
functioning altogether… rendering
the heating system useless.
#6- GLITCH IN CLIMATE
CONTROL MODULE
Your F-150’s HVAC system is managed
by a dedicated control unit.
A technical glitch in this unit may
hinder the vehicle’s heating system
functionality.
#7- ELECTRICAL ISSUE
Frayed
wire
Blown
fuse
 Damaged
relay
… can also result in heater failure
in Ford F-150.
#8- BROKEN BLEND
DOOR ACTUATOR
A defective blend door actuator
may hinder the circulation of hot
air into the cabin.
Adversely impacting the
heating system’s efficiency
as a result.
#9- TRAPPED AIR
BUBBLES
Your F-150’s heating system efficiency will
be adversely affected if there is air trapped
in the coolant hose.

A list of reasons why the
heating system of Ford F-150
might act erratically or cease
functioning altogether.
