Early Life Grew up on large cotton plantation in Delta Louisiana She lived in a one room cabin with her parents her sister and her four brothers Parents and older siblings had been slaves Two years before walker was born all slaves in the united states were set free
What is she famous for? In 1905 Madam C.J. Walker created hair treatment for African American women Madam C.J walker was the first African woman to become a millionaire In the early 1900s she was the president of her own company which made beauty products

Major Accomplishments Successful business woman She hired hundreds of woman to go from door to door selling hair treatment In 1910 walker set up the Madam C.J Walker manufacturing company in Indianapolis
Interesting Facts Walker died on May 25 in Irvington New York Her hair product became know as Walker Method or Walker system She got married at age 14 but her husband died less than 10 years later
