Hot air balloons were first used in Paris, France in 1783 by the Montgolfier brothers. They tested with animals before taking human passengers. These balloons are made of light but strong fabric with a basket carrying a heater. The heating of air inside the balloon allows it to ascend. The journey of hot air balloons depends on the direction of the wind. The first hot air balloon ride in Ireland was in 1785, showcasing the expanding horizon of aerial exploration.
