The Lemur Leaf Frog, with its green color, brown spots, and unique features, is a critically endangered species found in only three countries. Weighing just 2 grams and the size of a golf ball, they are at risk due to Chytridiomycosis. Efforts are being made to protect and breed them in zoos to prevent their extinction.

  2. Habitat and Color The color is green with brown spots, silver eyes, blue nostrils, unlikely from other frogs this one has no webbed feet The habitat is at a Primary Rain Forest

  3. Weight and Size The weight of the lemur leaf frog is about 2 grams The size is about as round as a golf ball

  4. Offspring and Diet The Lemur Leaf Frog is a carnivore so they eat insects and other inverdebrates The female lays her eggs on a leaf above a wet area and when the young develop, they wriggle out of the egg and into the water below.

  5. Predators The predators of the Lemur Leaf Frog are humans, birds, and feral animals

  6. How Many Are Left? The number of the Lemur Leaf Frog is unknown. It is critically endangered list. There are only three countries left. The countries are Costa Rica, Panama, and Columbia.

  7. Why The Lemur Leaf Frog Is Endangered It is endangered because of Chytridiomycosis, which is caused by fungus batrachocytrium dendrobatidis. It interfers with their breathing and natural defences.

  8. How Are We Protecting It Now We are protecting it now because a number of zoos are currently trying to breed more Lemur Leaf Frogs.

  9. Other Interesting Facts Some other interesting facts are : The Lemur Leaf Frog has blue nostrils and unlike other frogs like these frogs, this frog has no webbed feet. These frogs are very rare because the are almost extinct.
