The Endangered Florida Panther - Puma Concolor
The Florida Panther, scientifically known as Puma concolor, currently occupies just 5% of its historic range, with the population estimated to be between 100 to 160 individuals from a mere 20 in the 1970s. Recognizable by its cowlick in fur along the spine and a distinctive kink in the final vertebra of the tail, this majestic big cat faces numerous challenges to survival.
