TB IN THE NEWS Canadian Arctic tuberculosis outbreak lays bare overcrowded living conditions | Canada | The Guardian Remote Inuit community of Pangnirtung (population 1,500) in Nunavut had 31 active TB cases and 108 LTBI cases The average annual TB rate among Inuit is 290 times higher than in Canadian-born, non-Indigenous people Reasons cited include chronic overcrowding in houses, poverty, and a lack of access to medical care St. Luke s Mission Hospital, in Pangnirtung. Nunavut admits to large tuberculosis outbreak in Pangnirtung months later - The Globe and Mail | Canada News Media TB outbreak as declared on November 25, but the government resisted sharing the data until late May, even with the community

  12. What format would work best? (Same as now, case presentations, discussion, Q&A, etc.) FUTURE TBNN MEETING DISCUSSION What topics would be helpful to discuss or have presentations on? How often should meetings be held? Most people via email seemed fine with twice a year One in summer and one in winter?

  13. Question from a member: Has anyone encountered a case where a patient had completed treatment for LTBI/Active TB and then had an exposure at a later date? How was this case handled? OPEN FORUM If someone has tested positive for COVID and requires a TST, how long do you wait after that positive test before placing the TST? Other topics for discussion?
