Student Sustainability Fund Taylor Goss, Chair SSF Committee
Background Student Sustainability Fund (SSF) established Fall 2016 Funded by student fee of $2/per semester Intended to be used for projects related to sustainability, which will be proposed by students, faculty and staff.
Strategic Goal #1 Foster the development of environmentally sustainable projects to ensure that future students will have the same or better resources, opportunities and experiences as prior generations. Enable collaboration Promote and educate Provide opportunities and incentives for sustainable practices
Strategic Goal #2 Incorporate environmental sustainability in all facets of LSU, including campus operations, activities, and infrastructure. Reduce waste, energy, and water use Invest in sustainable transportation practices Promote a more sustainable, healthier food system on campus
Strategic Goal #3 Ensure that the natural resources on and surrounding campus are protected for future generations. Decrease greenhouse gas emissions and reduce the carbon footprint of the university Install green infrastructure systems to improve water quality and reduce stormwater runoff Partner with local municipalities and state agencies to make the region more sustainable

Submitting Proposals Fill out the Student Sustainability Fee Proposal Form Identify a Principal Implementer (PI) Identify and quantify the primary and secondary beneficiaries Plan a timeline for project completion under 18 months Complete the SSF Budget Template Form Proposals will be reviewed by SSF Oversight Committee Full guidelines and bylaws available on LSU Sustainability Website
