1. St. Ann Catholic Church Community Weekend/Ministry Fair September 28th5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. September 29th8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

2. Within Parish Ministry Programs

3. The St. Ann Adult Religious Enrichment Committee is part of the Faith Formation ministry of the parish. The Committee coordinates speakers, video speakers, and directions on relevant religious topics. Programs are most often on Monday evenings; some are offered during the day. The goal of these activities are to improve the understanding and appreciation of the Catholic faith among adults. Adult Religious Enrichment Committee (AREC). Activity:Committee arranges four or five talks held Monday evenings in the Fall and Spring on an annual theme. Volunteers:Over 18. Time commitment: 5-7 committee meetings/year about 1 hour each. 4. Activity:Serve at Saturday Vigil and Sunday Masses Volunteers:Youths in 4th grade and up. Time Commitment:Attend periodic training sessions; serve on rotating basis. Altar Servers. 5. Activity: Donate blood for use in our Northern Virginia community. Volunteers: 16 and up, at least 110 lbs. and in good health. Blood Drive. Time Commitment: By appointment or drop in during Fall and Spring drives held on Sundays in the lower level of the Church. Contact: Maria Shirron, 703-243-6787, mshirron@yahoo.com

6. Activity: Lead a celebration of the Word in the chapel for children who have not yet received First Communion. Children s Liturgy of the Word. Volunteers: Young Adult, Adult, Seniors Time Commitment: Prepare and conduct during the 9 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Sunday Masses on a rotating basis. 7. Activity: Host Coffee and Doughnuts following Sunday morning Masses. Volunteers: Family, Young Adult, Adult, Seniors Coffee and Doughnuts. Time Commitment: Scheduled Sunday mornings every 4-6 month for 5 hours. Contact: Denise Kfoury, 703-356-3165 (preferred), fhorner@cox.net

8. Activity: Focus is on spiritual enrichment, charitable projects, and fellowship. Open to:Catholic women ages 18 and older. Time Commitment: First Saturday of the Month, September to June, 10 am to 12 Noon (not required to attend every month). Contact: CDA1872@gmail.com Book Club: Book discussions with religious and spiritual focus. Led by Catholic Daughters. Open to: all adults. Time Commitment: Dates vary, Saturday mornings a few times per year. Attend as you wish. Movie Showings: Organized by Catholic Daughters. Movie showings of a religious and wholesome nature. Open to all adults. If children attend, they must be supervised by parent/guardian. Time Commitment: Dates vary in Spring and Summer. Attend as you wish. Activity:Be present for Eucharistic Adoration in the Chapel Volunteers:All ages Time Commitment:A few minutes or one chosen hour on Fridays between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon; or as an occasional substitute; or on a drop-in basis. 11. Activity:Serve Holy Communion at weekend Masses. Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EMHC). Volunteers: Selected by the Pastor Time Commitment:Attend a two-hour Diocesan training session (one Saturday morning in spring), serve a 5-year term by appointment of the Bishop; serve on rotating basis usually at minister s customary Mass; substitutes easily arranged. 12. Activity: Refreshments with presentations about Immigrations laws, Income Taxes, Realtors, Life Insurance, Catholic movies and others activities while children are in Religious Education classes. Activity:Administer Holy Communion to Catholic patients, and provide prayer and spiritual support to Catholic, and on occasion to other Christian and non-Christian patients, at Capital Caring's Halquist Inpatient Center, 4715 15th St. N., Arlington, VA. Activity: Provide receptions as requested by the Pastor, e.g., luncheon following annual Anointing Mass, welcome or farewell parties for staff or priests, refreshments for Diocesan events held at St. Ann s. 16. Activity:CYO organizes adult-supervised athletics for children in grades 3-8 to help children develop teamwork, individual skills, and sportsmanship. Volunteer coaches and assistants needed. 20. Activity: Conduct weekly liturgical services of prayer, readings, music, reflections, and communion; assist at a monthly Mass at Sunrise Retirement Community in Arlington. Activity: Advisory group (mandated by canon law) assists the Pastor to develop an annual budget and monitor Parish income, expenditures, and financial procedures; assist the Pastor in presenting an annual financial report to the Parish. 27. Activity:Care for our beautiful facility by performing a myriad of minor repair and maintenance tasks on St Ann's campus. Volunteers:Teen and up; all levels of experience are needed in areas of in woodworking, dry-walling, electrical repair, and landscaping/grounds maintenance. St. Joseph's Work. Flexible and varied volunteer opportunities for those with all kinds of skills - administrative or organizing; creative; home repair; phone-calling, etc., all needed. Time Commitment: 60-90 minutes/week for one month/year. Extra volunteers needed during Advent, Christmas and Holy Week for special preparations one time volunteers welcome then. 32. Activity: Prepare and maintain the Churchs interior dcor and display of plants, flowers, artwork, and seasonal decorations Plants, Flowers & Seasonal D cor. 33. Activity:Serve as ministers of hospitality, greeting and assisting those who gather for Sunday Masses, funerals, sacraments, and other religious services. 35. Music Ministries Vocalists and instrumentalists of all ages serve at Mass, and other services, including holy days and holidays

36. Activity:Sings all varieties of Church music with instrumental accompaniment. Volunteers:Teen and up (parental involvement desired for teens). Contemporary Choir Time Commitment: 11 a.m. Sunday mass, by request at special events; practices every other Tuesday, 7:15 p.m. at Church. 41. Activity: Faith formation opportunities for adults, teenagers and children, as well as sacramental preparation (Baptism, Penance, Holy Eucharist and Confirmation) for parents and children. Volunteers serve as mentors, catechists, group leaders and coordinators for various programs, including Infant Baptism, Religious Education classes (Gr. K-8), Youth Ministry (Gr. 9-12); Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), Rite of Christian Initiation of Children (RCIC) ages 6 and older, Vacation Bible School, a one-week spiritual summer camp (pre-K 5). 44. Activity:An active school for Preschool through Grade 8; a community of families and professionals bound together in Faith and service. Activity:Support the school and Parish in innumerable ways that build community, foster a rich social and spiritual environment for school families and staff, and raise funds to enhance school programs. 46. Scouting The Parish has a long tradition of scouting since 1949. Volunteer adults mentor boys and girls of the St. Ann community.
