RESEARCH PROJECT Research area: Hydrogen safety Title: Analysis of the performance of hydrogen storage components exposed to fire with a focus on cryogenic equipment Tools: Risk assessment tools, software (PHAST, Ansys FLUENT). 5/10
RESEARCH (1) What has been done? (November 2022 January 2023) Damage distances (PHAST 8.4) The fuel is released and, in presence of an ignition source, burns The storage tank is damaged due to the collision The bus is involved in a road crash Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Comparative risk assessment of liquid hydrogen storage tanks for heavy duty vehicles Sensitivity analysis 6/10
RESEARCH (2) What is the present work about? (January 2023 ongoing) Adaptation of a CFD model to reproduce the outcomes of the SH2IFT project 7/10
RESEARCH (3) The 2D CFD model is developed with Ansys FLUENT. Critical aspects: Thermal conductivity of the insulation Supercritical hydrogen 8/10
