Rho Gamma Application Process RECRUITMENT 2019
The WHY behind Rho Gamma Being a Rho Gamma is about laying down your letters to care for the women looking to find theirs. It s about empathy and selflessness, and it takes perspective and compassion. It s about realizing what a privilege it is to walk with women through one of the most pivotal weeks they could experience as Virginia Tech students. Being a Rho Gamma isn t about getting out of recruitment it s about leaving a legacy that extends far beyond recruitment.

Additional Information 3 credit online course (LDRS 2014) with weekly recitations on Mondays from 5:00-6:30 pm You must participate in recruitment as a chapter member before applying to be a Rho Gamma You MUST be willing to do what it takes to fully disassociate from your chapter Talk to women in your chapter who have been Rho Gammas about their experience Being a Rho Gamma will have a retention aspect included this year, so be prepared to sustain relationships with PNMs even after the end of formal recruitment (FRIENDSHIPS YAY!) Anyone can BE a Rho Gamma, but a good Rho Gamma is aware and enthusiastic about the potential impact she can and will make
Important Points to Remember! Being a Rho Gamma entails giving up a lot. Before applying, there are many aspects of the role that may be frustrating and should be considered: Time commitment with online course and weekly meetings Disassociation (including no communication with chapter women during recruitment week) Removing yourself from social media Not being as active in your chapter s fall philanthropy/outreach events Etc. BUT, being a Rho Gamma has the potential to be one of the most rewarding things you do as a college student. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact Briana Hila at vtrhogamma@gmail.com. Thank you!
