  7. Arrive at facility no more than 10 minutes prior to scheduled ice session Arrival at the Arrival at the Arena Arena Enter through established entrances and follow signs Changeroom will be limited to social distanced seating only and washroom access. Skaters arrive rink ready (you can warm up outside respecting physical distancing) Skates may be tied on site, though we ask you arrive with them in hand or a SMALL skate pack. No rolling cases or large bags will be allowed in. Personal items must be left with the parent Skaters will bring their own personal items, tissue, water bottle, gloves, hand sanitizer in a Ziplock bag to be left on the boards. Wash your hands with soap & water or sanitize using hand sanitizer Spectators will be limited to one adult per skater, (parent/Grandparent) and only a sibling in a back/front pack or who can sit for the duration of the ice time on a parents lap will be allowed in. We cannot have any kids roaming free during the session. No strollers or car seats.

  8. Skaters, coaches, staff, volunteers parents or guardians cannot come to Calalta programming if they are sick or feel unwell with new or unexplained symptoms (we often have runny noses and scratchy throats at the rink. So this would include something different then the normal reactions.) Sickness Sickness Policy Policy If your child develops symptoms while at Calalta programming, they will be isolated from others and a parent or guardian must be available to pick them up immediately Cleaning and disinfecting of all equipment and surfaces that may have come into contact with the symptomatic participant will occur Performance of hand hygiene by remaining participants must take place Suspension or temporary cancellation of the event may be implemented.

  9. If your skater develops COVID-19 symptoms or has a known exposure to COVID-19 and has been asked to self isolate, you should notify your coach and the club. Sickness Sickness policy policy continued continued Your skater can return to skating once it has been proven they and your family are free of the COVID-19 virus as verified by a medical professional. In case of a positive test at one of our classes, We will follow AHS directives. Refunds for missed sessions are available with the medical documentation provision for a Covid-19 self isolation order (not applicable to travel, which will not be considered for refund) or positive test, and the skater has completed a 10 day recovery and are symptom free.

  10. We have a designated Responder to oversee each session and activate response plan as needed. Parent is to be first point of contact for first aid if possible. First Aid First Aid Coach is the secondary responder in case of emergency. Coach must be attired in a mask and gloves using proper protocols of donning of PPE before attending to the skater. Coach moves skater to personal seating space if needed. Designated responder contacts guardians and if needed Emergency responders. Coach to gather skater and their personal effects, and walk skater to meet their ride. The coach is responsible to fill out the Incident Report form on the Skate Canada website.   13. *Coaches are role models for the skaters and their parents Communication Communication maintaining social distancing, ensuring all required forms are filled out correctly in advance of taking the ice and following all hand washing and hygiene practices. If the guidelines set by SkateCanada Alberta and AHS are not followed, we could be shut down. It is imperative that all coaches, skaters and parents abide by these regulations. If any coach, skater or parent is found to be non compliant with these guidelines they will be asked to leave or not permitted into the facility. *The coaches in charge of Covid enforcement are the lead coach of the session in progress.

  14. Communication Communication The best form of communication between the club and the coaches is email.

The role of the Director of Skating, Director of Group programming or Office administration with regard to communication with member families is as follows Communication Communication Ensure schedule is clearly communicated Ensure all Public Health, Provincial, or City laws and protocols are being followed and updated as needed. Make sure the skater/spectators know where and when to enter and exit the facility Ensuring skaters and coaches maintain social distancing requirements and practice safe hygiene/respiratory practices

  16. JCA is long overdue for maintenance, and the city has opted to begin the transformation in February of 2021 Jimmie Condon Arena Upgrade and renovations This means that for February and March, programming will be at Southland arena and COP Registration for a spring session from April to June will open once ice permits are secured Registration for a summer session for July and August will open once ice permits are secured As of April 1, we have been assured an arena in the SW quadrant of the city in which we will remain until the renovations are completed in late 2021

  17. PRACTICE PHYSICAL DISTANCING If you are too close to someone who coughs or sneezes, you risk breathing in tiny droplets that could contain the COVID-19 virus. Keep at least 2 meters (about the length of a hockey stick) between you and others.
