Each Baltimore UASI Jurisdiction will develop a Recovery Plan with annexes to coordinate regional recovery efforts for natural and human-caused hazards. The Baltimore Region's vitality to the nation's economic prosperity and security necessitates coordinated planning to prevent confusion, financial losses, and other adverse impacts in the aftermath of disasters. Establishing relationships, defining roles, and facilitating partnerships are key components for efficient recovery operations.

Jurisdictional and Regional Recovery Planning Project Overview
Each Baltimore UASI Jurisdiction will develop a Recovery Plan Recovery Support Function Annexes supplement the plans Develop a Baltimore UASI All-hazards Regional Recovery Plan to coordinate regional recovery efforts Establish a Recovery Program to sustain plans and relationships 2
The Baltimore Region is susceptible to a wide range of natural and human caused hazards with cascading impacts across the globe. The Baltimore Region is vital to the economic prosperity and security of our nation, and many national security assets and resources are located within the Baltimore Region. 3
Poor coordination and planning in the aftermath of a disaster can result in: Confusion and chaos Financial losses Closure of local businesses Loss of residents and visitors Mental and behavioral health issues for the community Political ramifications 4
Establishes the relationships needed to support recovery efforts Minimizes the financial impacts of a disaster and expedites the reimbursement process Defines the roles and responsibilities of recovery partners Allows all levels of government to coordinate in support of recovery operations Facilitates public-private partnerships in support of recovery efforts Reduces the amount of time needed to recover 5
