Classroom Use
I will use this PP as an introduction to PUSH and PULL
factors. As I show it, students will complete the
accompanying “PUSH and PULL Factors Notes” sheet. This
will hold students accountable for paying attention to the PP,
and it will provide students with concrete notes to refer to
later. After the PP, students will turn in their “Notes” sheet
for a completion grade. To conclude the lesson, students will
work in groups of three on the “PUSH or PULL? ” activity.
Explore the significance of push and pull factors in migration, influencing individuals to either leave or come to a new place. Discover social, political, economic, and environmental factors that drive or attract people, shaping their decisions and experiences.

Political PUSHing - government s actions forcing you out - POLITICAL OPPRESSION WAR INSTABILITY government cannot maintain control over the country (perhaps it has been changing every few years, resulting in a lack of stability) Afghanistan Citizens have little to no freedoms OR
Economic PUSHing UNEMPLOYMENT (lack of jobs) HIGH COST OF LIVING POVERTY
