Sun damage in childhood is a key risk factor for skin cancer later in life. Initiatives like the SUNucate model legislation aim to ensure access to sunscreen in schools. The Sun Hero Program equips healthcare professionals to educate children on sun-safe behaviors through fun materials and sun-protection kits. By raising awareness and empowering educators, the program strives to reduce skin cancer rates by promoting early sun protection habits.
