PPROEM Update
Pikes Peak Regional Office of Emergency Management (PPROEM) has made significant progress since its inception, including establishing an Emergency Coordination Center, completing various plans, enhancing public information efforts, and responding to multiple emergency situations. The organization has worked collaboratively with local entities and volunteer organizations to ensure effective resource utilization during emergencies. Year Two January 2019 Intergovernmental Agreement Signed El Paso County/City of Colorado Springs Requirement Operate a regional Coordination Center Coordinate with local nonprofit and volunteer organizations to ensure effective use of resources during times of emergency Manage federal and state grant funding and programs, as awarded, pursuant to the standards established by such granting agencies Establish an advisory board
Accomplished Emergency Coordination Center (ECC) configured and operational (March 2020) Worked closely with local, non-profit and volunteer organizations during our plan establishment Joint Hazard Mitigation Plan first joint grant project Emergency Coordination Center operational remotely Established and advisory board and established regular meetings
Accomplished 19 Consolidated Plans Completed 18 Plans to be completed before the end of the year. (Projected Complete) Consolidated Emergency Operations Plan (Cornerstone of emergency management) Joint Hazard Mitigation Plan Established Urban Area Safety Initiative (UASI) Standard Operating Guides (Internal) Developing Emergency Management Accreditation Regional Evacuation Training
Outcomes Public Information Office (Joint Press Releases) GIS Offices work jointly can backfill Citizens Emergency Response Team (CERT) and Community Advancing Public Safety (CAPS) working together During ECC activations all disciplines from the County, Municipalities, Partners, and State sit in the same room coordinating support as one team Develop a Common Regional Operating Picture for Force Multiplication
