Starter: What can you remember from your Easter revision? Number 9-15 Write down TWO/THREE quotations for EACH of the following poems. 9. My Last Duchess 10. The Prelude 11. Exposure 12. Kamikaze 13. Tissue 14. Storm on the Island 15. The Emigree Extension: Link any key themes for each poem and analyse for AO2.

LO: to be able to re-cap your understanding of key poems from the Power and Conflict cluster. Good: to be able to recap your understanding of key poems. Brilliant: to be able to recap how key poems compare to one another. Excellent: to be able to justify and give detailed explanations as to how all of the key poems compare.
WORRY WALL. Of all the poems you were expected to revise over the half term which one are you concerned about? What concerns (if any) do you have about comparing two of the poems?
Task: Poetry revision dominoes! In groups of four, you will be given eight dominoes. On the left hand side start with a poem you all collectively feel confident with. Write the title at the top. For example start with Checking Out Me History . Write down one key idea from this poem with a key quotation/possible theory and context. Remains: Armitage uses violent lexis rips through and tosess his guts to describe the death of the looter. Bayonet Charge Hughes uses sibilance shot slashed - links to the lexical field of death as a result of conflict. Now on the right hand side of the domino write the title of a poem you think this compares with. Add similar notes for this one. Complete all eight dominoes match them up! (REMEMBER some poems will compare to more than one poem)
