Vision:
Our vision is a community where
fewer people suffer from addictions.
Mission:
Our sole purpose is to provide an environment
where men with addictions can embark on a
recovery process directed towards meaningful,
productive life.
A one-year residential program for men over
18 years old.
Recovery-directed programs for men and their
families.
Education initiatives on recovery in the
community.
A sixty bed facility.
Our House is accredited through Accreditation
Canada, a not-for-profit, independent organization
that provides health organizations with an external
peer review to assess the quality of their services
based on standards of excellence.

Our House is a not for profit organization operating
through funds procured through fundraising, grants,
donations, and residential treatment fees.
•
Our House began as the result of concerned church
members at the Anglican church of St. Stephen the
Martyr.
•
It began as a residential drop in facility for men and
women and operated on a volunteer basis.
•
It was premised on the notion of “addicts helping
addicts.”
•
Today, Our House operates as a complete addictions
recovery center.
•
The center offers addictions recovery programs, along
with an extensive list of other programming options.
•
Additionally, Our House acts as a safe space, free of
drugs and alcohol, where recovering individuals are
able to receive access to basic human needs such as
food and shelter.

Throughout the course of a 1-year residency program, clients are
provided hands on guidance by trained addictions recovery counsellors
including 24 hour onsite support, one on one counselling sessions, and
post-graduation support.
Who we help:
Men over the age of 18.
Average age is 37 years old.
60% in the 26-44 age range.
48% have not completed high
school
45% report drug of choice as
alcohol.
37% report drug of choice as
cocaine.
87% began drinking before
the age of 18.
75% began using drugs
before the age of 18.
50% have been hospitalized
due to their addiction.
45% report experiencing a
concurrent disorder.
56% report being prescribed
medication for a mental
health disorder.
All respondents reported
being incarcerated for 30
days or more.
66% have spent one year or
more incarcerated.
48% have not completed high
school.
45% report experiencing
physical abuse.
Our House is a community-focused addiction recovery center providing a one-year residential program for men over 18 years old. With a mission to offer a recovery-focused environment and support meaningful, productive lives, Our House also facilitates educational initiatives and supports families. Accredited by Accreditation Canada, the center has a rich history of grassroots support and operates as a safe space for individuals seeking to overcome addiction. Through hands-on guidance and various psycho-educational modules, residents receive comprehensive support on their journey to recovery.
