The Beginning Johnny Bravo was a character created for cartoon network in 1995. Though it was just a rough mini sketch the producer and overall creator of Johnny Bravo Van Partible had dawned upon a show that became reasonably large on the channel. Partible merely offered the sketch and a few other episodes toHanna Barbera, who owned an animation company which publiciedand showcased new cartoons, this could give Partible a chance to reveal his show. Hanna Barbera s What a Cartoon! was the showcase of which Johnny Bravo was revealed.

Where did the idea come from? Partible based the show on his University final project while attending Loyola Marymount University . A pilot short (mini-show) was shown on Cartoon Network in 1995, this was then followed by two more shorts of which Partible had created, using the same narrative as his project at uni. From the popularity of the shorts, due to its comedic nature and the iconic Elvis impersonation the protagonist has an remoniscent accent from, enticed with the show, Cartoon Network granted Partible a 30 minuet slot of which his show would appear which premiered on July 14, 1997.

Development of the show The series was continued in a second season in late 1999. The creator of the show Partible, had left the show. Cartoon network then went on to release the show under new production teams headed by Kirk Tingblad. In 2003 Partible had returned to the production of his show for a fourth season, restoring it to the initial type of animation, humour and cheesy sound effects. The show finally finished on August the 27th, 2004, with a amount of four seasons adding up to 67 episodes.
