Trends in Online Giving Online charitable giving grew from $19.2 billion in 2012 to over $31 billion in 2017. 54% of donors worldwide prefer to give online with a credit or debit card. Average online donation amount in 2018- $128. At the Presbyterian Mission Agency, we ve seen a 70% growth in the amount received from online gifts between 2014 and 2018.
#GivingTuesday Statistics In 2018, Giving Tuesday raised $380 million dollars online, up 38% or $106 million from 2017. Faith-based nonprofits now receive the largest percentage of #GivingTuesday online donations. Average online donation amount in 2018- $134. Last year, Presbyterians gave over $105,500 to missions and ministries through the Presbyterian Mission Agency, including unrestricted giving.
#GivingTuesday at the Presbyterian Mission Agency Shared Mission- These gifts are fully flexible, which allows support for all ministries, and innovation at every level of the Church to serve needs that arise suddenly, especially in living out our call to be a Matthew 25 Church in addressing systemic poverty, structural racism, and congregational vitality. Special Offerings- Gifts to our four Special Offerings unite us to move outside the doors of the church to take faith-based action on shared concerns, and to walk alongside the vulnerable to whom we have been called. End Cash Bail- An effort that grew out of the Hands and Feet Initiative from the 223rd General Assembly, these gifts will help to dismantle the racial and economic disparity in the cash bail system.
