Approval sought for three full-time RNDA pathways through the modification of existing BSc (hons) Nursing programmes. Reflects the current Government commitment to the accessibility of apprenticeships and to the increased number of Registered Nurses to the workforce (NHS Long Term plan 2019; NHS Peoples Plan 2020) The Registered Nurse Degree Apprenticeship is based on the structure and delivery of the BSc (Hons) Nursing in the three fields of: Adult, Child, Mental Health. The apprenticeship also includes the successful completion of the End Point Assessment for registered nurse non-integrated Degree apprenticeship standard (ST0781). School of Health Sciences, University of Brighton 3
Full time nature of the programme. Maximum length of a Nurse Degree Apprenticeship is 48-months, however this is a 36-month programme with up to 3 months for the EPA achievement and is a full time apprenticeship (37.5 hours per week). The apprentices will experience `off the job training` (approx. 90%) through the currently scheduled full time BSc (Hons) Nursing courses and `on the job training` with their employer at set points in the year. The BSc (Hons) Nursing courses align with the NMC standards and provide the opportunity for entry with Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). School of Health Sciences, University of Brighton 4
RPL The University of Brighton RPL Policy will be followed and a panel convened of Course Leaders and Apprenticeship Lead to review RPL applications. Advanced mapping of the UoB Foundation Degree (NA/AP) in Health and Social Care will be developed to streamline the process of allowing: 120 level 4 credits 40 level 5 credits Other applications on an individual basis (up to a total of 180 credits).
