  3. Its been nearly 4 full days of intern training let s see what you know! Form a circle around the screen Popcorn your answers and brainstorm together some solutions Rely on each other for support. You re not completing an internship all by yourself!

  4. WHAT DO YOU DO? What if your supervisor gives you a large number of tasks to get done (10 tasks that take 10minutes ach to do; 100minutes), but you only have one hour(60minutes)?

  5. WHAT DO YOU DO When you feel like your tasks are boring and/or repetitive?

  6. WHAT DO YOU DO? Suppose you are the type of person who needs a quiet environment to work productively. You have a coworker who sits next to you that likes to talk throughout the day. Their chatting is making it hard to get your work done. What do you do?

  7. WHAT DO YOU DO? Suppose you are serving a customer that is making racist or sexist remarks. Is this a problem for you? What is the best way to deal with this problem?

  8. WHAT DO YOU DO? What if your manager gives you a list of things that needs to get done then leaves for the day; After finishing the first task you realize that you are unclear on the other tasks that you need to complete. What do you do? How do you avoid this situation in the future?

  9. WHAT DO YOU DO? Your coworker is gossiping about others at work, suppose you agree with them. Do you join the conversation? Do you shut it down? Or ignore them?

  10. WHAT DO YOU DO? You need to leave as soon as you can due to a family emergency. What do you do?

  11. WHAT DO YOU DO? Your supervisor has not shown up to the office yet and it s been 15 minutes since you have clocked in. You haven t heard about anything regarding their tardiness. What do you?

  12. WHAT DO YOU DO? You overhear another intern talk about their disinterest in their department and supervisors? What do you say or do?

  13. WHAT DO YOU DO? Your department has plenty of supplies that they don t use. You find yourself in need of supplies, like pens, binders, etc. Should you take it?

  14. WHAT DO YOU DO You have a coworker who is making sexual/racist jokes, or comments that make you uncomfortable. What do you do?

  15. BONUS MATERIAL: TIME MANAGEMENT ACTIVITY Complete as many tasks as possible in 5 minutes Be safe while completing these tasks (no running & do your best to be aware of your surroundings)

  16. 1. Do a lap around the room (5 pts) 2. Create something for the instructor to wear, such as a hat or tie (10 pts; +5 pts if they wear it) 3. Find out something unique about each person on the team (5 pts) 4. Sing a song together (15 pts) 5. Make a paper airplane and throw it from one end of the room to another (10 pts) 6. Get everyone in the room to sign a single piece of paper (5 pts) 7. Count the number of pets owned by your group (20 pts) 8. Assign a nickname to each member of the team (5 pts) 9. Create name cards for each team member (5 pts; +5 pts if you use your team nicknames) 10. Make a tower out of the materials owned by your group (10 pts) 11. Convince a member of another team to join you (20 pts) 12. Name your team and come up with a slogan (5 pts for the name; 5 pts for the slogan) 13. Re-create the sounds of the Amazon rainforest with the sounds of your voices (10 pts) 14. Make a list of what your team wants out of the workshop (15 pts) 15. Form a conga line and conga from one end of the room to another (5 pts; +10 pts if anyone joins you) 16. Arrange yourselves from shortest to tallest (+10 pts; +5 pts if anyone joins you) 17. Win a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors vs. the instructor (+15 pts if you win; -30 if you lose; max of 2 per team) 19. Dance the Cha-Cha for 15 seconds (+5 pts; +15 pts if you dance with someone from another team) 20. Give everyone in the room a compliment (+10 pts)

  17. DEBRIEF How do you think this activity relates to time management? How did your team decide what tasks they wanted to do? How can you relate this activity to juggling your own schedule?
