Explore the process of modifying a sensorless Field-Oriented Control (FOC) project to a sensored FOC control for a motor control application utilizing Infineon's XMC1302 microcontroller. The queries address the integration of position sensors for rotor position feedback, adjusting scaling factors, and considerations for the conversion. The article references project details and scaling information to guide the development process effectively.

  1. XMC1302 Motor Control We are working on motor control application using Infineon's XMC1302 microcontroller We are using Infineon's PMSM_FOC_SL_XMC13 project as our reference for the development Since the above project works on sensor less control we are trying to modify it with the sensored control for rotor position feedback. We have few queries related to the project which are mentioned in the upcoming slides, Kindly go through the queries and provide us the solution

  2. Queries Does Infineon have any projects on Sensored FOC control ? If yes kindly share us the project details for our development. Currently we have used position sensors in the motor, so the controller should take the position input which will be replacing the pmsm_foc_pll_estimator block from Infineon. We have commented any input and output from the pmsm_foc_pll_estimator block and planning to replace PLL_Estimator.RotorAngleQ31 variable with the sensored rotor angle. What will be the scaling factor used on the above variable that has to be replaced here?

  3. Queries Reference found in the article AP32370_PMSM_FOC_for_XMC1000.pdf regarding the angle scaling Will the above reference be used in the angle scaling at the same position that was mentioned in the previous slide? Physics Motors Confidential

  4. Queries For the Speed variable PLL_Estimator.RotorSpeed_In mentioned below what is the speed scaling used Is it same as the scaling mentioned in the AP32370_PMSM_FOC_for_XMC1000.pdf that is displayed in the next slide?

  5. Queries Reference found in the article AP32370_PMSM_FOC_for_XMC1000.pdf regarding the speed scaling Also let us know anything else that has to considered during modification of sensor less FOC project to sensored FOC. Kindly provide brief description to all the solutions for our understanding.

  6. Thank you
