This quote shows that Miranda cares
deeply for Auggie an awful lot.

learn more about her. However, when her
mother doesn’t respond, it suggests she does
not want to share it or she does not feel
close enough to her in order to tell her.

kind of mocking…she was totally
the prettiest.”
This quotation shows that Miranda is
jealous as the way she states that Via has a
boyfriend is in a surprised way, however
we know from later on in the quote that
Miranda thinks she is pretty so wouldn’t be
surprised, so this suggests she says it
because she is jealous. The verb “mocking”
shows she is jealous as usually she would
have been pleased for someone who was
once her friend.
