Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training, and Skills Development Apprenticeship Overview

The process involves three phases: STO transition, planning for a mature state, and implementation of a mature state. Responsibilities include oversight, program design, administration of funding programs, apprenticeship registration, examination administration, compliance, and enforcement. STO functions include certification, trade equivalency assessments, public register maintenance, apprenticeship program establishment, research, inclusivity promotion, and diversity. Planning for STO's mature state service delivery and potential transition from MLITSD services are ongoing in the second phase.
