MIND MINDOUT To introduce the MindOut programme and to explore ideas around Mental Health Wellbeing SESSION SESSION GOAL GOAL ------------------ ------------------ OBJECTIVES OBJECTIVES ------------------ ------------------ Students will Be introduced to the MindOut programme. Establish ground rules for the programme. Gain a better understanding of what it means be mentally well. to

  3. MIND MINDOUT Suggested Ground Rules RESPECT Give undivided attention to the person who is speaking. use names or other ID. For example, we won t say my older brother instead we will say I know someone who SENSITIVITY We will remember that everyone is different and we all come from different backgrounds and experiences and so will avoid insensitive and careless remarks. CONFIDENTIALITY What we share in this group will remain in this group. RIGHT TO PASS It is always okay to pass on any activity. HAVE FUN! It is okay to have a good time. Creating a safe space is about coming together as a community, being mutually supportive and enjoying each other s qualities. OPENNESS We will be as open and honest as possible without disclosing others (family, neighbours, and friends) personal or private issues. It is okay to discuss situations, but we won t NO JUDGEMENT We can disagree with another person s point of view without putting that person down.

  4. MIND MINDOUT Mental Wellbeing Mental Wellbeing encompasses the emotional, psychological, spiritual, and social aspects of daily life. Simply put, it can be explained as the skills someone has to cope with challenges, realise their own potential, feel able and optimistic and build relationships with others and society.
