Max Schelers Hierarchy of Values
Max Scheler German Philosopher Known for his work in phenomenology, ethics, and philosophical antropology. He was also known for his theory of values. He argued that values, like the colours of the spectrum, are independent of the things to which they belong. He posited five ranks of values ranging from those of physical comfort to those of usefulness, life, the mind and the holy. His central issue in his thought and writing was the question regarding the meaning of the human being.
