Prewriting BRAINSTORM Anything goes Jot down any ideas you have Select a topic Write ideas that support that topic Narrow down your ideas Maybe some go together Outline
Drafting Write your essay! Don t worry about spelling, just begin writing your paragraphs Don t worry about a title Don t worry about how pretty it is JUST WRITE
Revising Now, make it sound good Do you have paragraphs? Check to make sure you have all the good stuff you need Is it convincing? Is it in a good order? DOES IT MAKE SENSE?
Editing Now, use spell check, have someone look it over for punctuation and nitty gritty stuff Specific formatting things, correct words
Publishing This is where you polish your writing Make it sound and look good Check for errors Check for errors Check for errors
Persuasive Practice Essay APPLY THE PROCESS We have rules everywhere. Argue to support changing a rule that affects you. Be sure to tell your audience the rule, your reasons for changing it, and give evidence to support the change. Your final draft is due FRIDAY
