  3. ADJECTIVES Pridjevekoristimo kao dodatak imenici a oni opisuju kakvo je to, ije je to i od ega je to: Dolaze i iza glagola be (am, is, are) i glagola osjeta i osje aja look, seem, feel, taste, smell ex. Mary is beautiful. ex. I have a beautiful house.

  4. ADJECTIVES TO ADVERBS Spelling rules for adding -ly In most cases, ly is simply added to the positive form of the adjective. For example: Adjective sad beautiful quick soft Adverb sadly beautifully quickly softly

  5. Adjectives ending in -ic When the adjective ends in ic, the syllable al is usually added before the lyending. For example: Adjective Dramatic Specific Scientific Adverb Dramatically Specifically Scientifically example: artistic+ al + ly -artistically

  6. . Adjectives ending in le When the adjective ends in ble or ple we remove e and add -ly. For example: Adjective favourable humble simple Adverb favourably humbly simply

  7. When the adjective ends in le preceded by a vowel, in most cases, lyis simply added to the positive form of the adjective. For example: Adjective Adverb Agile Agilely Sole Solely

  8. Adjectives ending in ll When the adjective ends in ll, only yis added. For example: Adjective Adverb Dull Dully Full Fully Shrill Shrilly Adjectives ending in ue When the adjective ends in ue, the final eis usually omitted before the ending ly is added. For example: Adjective Adverb Due Duly True Truly

  9. Adjectives ending in y When the adjective ends in ypreceded by a consonant, the yis usually changed to i before the ending ly is added. For example: Adjective Adverb Busy busily Easy Easily Happy Happily However, in the case of the adjectives shyand sly, lyis simply added to the positive form of the adjective: Adjective Adverb Shy Shyly Sly Slyly

  10. When the adjective ends in ypreceded by a vowel, (ay, ey, oy, uy) in most cases, ly is simply added to the positive form of the adjective. For example: Adjective Adverb Coy Coyly Grey Greyly

  11. Adverbs which do not use the ending ly Irregular adverbs: Adjective Good Fast Hard Adverb Well Fast Hard
