Hour 14 Recap We studied Surah Fil We will ponder over its meanings from next salah Grammar Negation Stop on every Ayah and imagine our response from Allah lets make Dua to Allah and lets approach this hour with firm belief that Allah will make it easy for us
Introduction We will learn the verses 1-3 from Surah Baqrah Grammar: Superlative At the end of this lesson will learn 137 words which come in Quran almost 19,944 times Attendance is very important
Surah Baqrah Verse 1-3 Second Surah of the Quran One of the first Surah to be revealed in Madinah Longest Surah of the Quran Surah in which it has the longest Ayah in the Qurah Verse: 282 Surah in which the last verse of the Quran was revealed Verse: 281 Shaytan will not enter a house in which Surah Baqrah has been recited (Hadith) Contains a thousand new incidents, a thousand commands and a thousand prohibitions
Surah Baqrah Verse 1 Alif Laam Meem
Alif Laam Meem The correct meaning only Allah knows Lam Meem Some say it means: The names of Allah Names of some of the Surah The best opinion from all the scholars is that it testifies to the miraculous Quran Alif Some ignorant people say: some of Quran words don t mean anything, such as these letters. Such people are committing a major mistake. They do carry a specific meaning. The correct meaning Only Allah knows
Message from Alif Laam Meem These letters testifies to the miraculous of the Quran Everytime Allah mentions the next verse is about the Quran Abujahal once heard Prophet SAW reading Quran and said this is a speech of a poet . We know the Quran is a miracle but yet it does not change our lives Lets read it with understanding so that it changes our lives
Surah Baqrah Verse 2 in it no doubt the book That is

Message from for (the) God fearing a guidance in it no doubt the book That (is) No doubt in the Quran OR No doubt that it is revealed from Allah Meaning of fearing God, does not mean how we fear people in the world It s the fear which comes after the love of Allah Allah is describing the qualities of the god fearing people in the next verse Two types of guidance. Guidance of faith and Guidance of explaining the truth, give direction and lead to it Taqwa: You walk on path that has thorns and you roll up sleeves and struggle to walk Don t try to FEAR Allah- Try to LOVE Allah and fear will come

None of them can be missing Prophet SAW would refer to Islam as any of these 4 steps Belief, rituals, character, actions Throughout the Quran, even though we have been invited to believe but the invitation does not stop there. We are invited to believe and immediately follow that belief by action. It must be demonstrated in action e.g in this verse Allah talks about belief and rituals which is Salah, and spending and that is benefitting humanity That s why Iman and righteous deeds comes together in over a 100 places

Phew Alhumdulillah We have completed Surah Baqrah verses 1-3, Without Allah s help it would not have been possible, so lets say Alhumdulillah Let s start to ponder over what we have learnt so far in our Salah, and lets ask Allah to guide us from his book and make us of those who have Taqwa and fear Allah
