137
words
which come in Quran almost
19,944
 times
Attendance is very important

Surah Baqrah – Verse 1-3

Second Surah of the Quran
One of the first Surah to be revealed in Madinah
Longest Surah of the Quran
Surah in which it has the longest Ayah in the Qurah Verse: 282
Surah in which the last verse of the Quran was revealed Verse: 281
Shaytan will not enter a house in which Surah Baqrah has been
recited (Hadith)
Contains a thousand new incidents, a thousand commands and
a thousand prohibitions

Surah Baqrah – Verse 1

The correct meaning only Allah knows

Some say it means:
The names of Allah
Names of some of the Surah
The best opinion from all the scholars is that it
testifies to the miraculous Quran

Some ignorant people say: some of
Quran words don’t mean anything, such
as these letters. Such people are
committing a major mistake. They do
carry a specific meaning. The correct
meaning Only Allah knows

Message from

These letters testifies to the miraculous of the Quran
Everytime Allah mentions the next verse is about the Quran
Abujahal once heard Prophet SAW reading Quran and said
this is a speech of a poet ….
We know the Quran is a miracle but yet it does not change
our lives
Lets read it with understanding so that it changes our lives

Surah Baqrah – Verse 2

This word covered in
Hour 7

ذلك

is used for far, but the Quran is here so
why didn’t Allah use
هذا
Because
 the word
ذَلِكَ

does not necessary
point to something far in distance; it can also
be used to point to something far in status.
The Qur’an is very high and exalted in its
status, and in that sense it is “far.”

means:
Book
(in this context
it’s the Quran)

رَيْب
means: doubt

Hour 4

مُ‍

means: those who
are God fearing

It comes from root
word
تَقْوى

Message from

No doubt in the Quran OR No doubt that it is revealed from Allah
Meaning of fearing God, does not mean how we fear people in the world
It’s the fear which comes after the love of Allah
Allah is describing the qualities of the god fearing people in the next verse
Two types of guidance. Guidance of faith and Guidance of explaining the truth,
give direction and lead to it
Taqwa: You walk on path that has thorns and you roll up sleeves and struggle to
walk

Message from

Iman includes to say it by our tongues, actions and belief in our hearts
Islam is a set of beliefs, these beliefs must be demonstrated in actions,
and these actions are rituals. These rituals must impact the character of
the individual, and that character of the individual is expressed in the
actions of that individual.

None of them can be missing
Prophet SAW would refer to Islam as any of these 4 steps
Belief, rituals, character, actions
Throughout the Quran, even though we have been invited to
believe but the invitation does not stop there. We are invited to
believe and immediately follow that belief by action. It must be
demonstrated in action
e.g in this verse Allah talks about belief and rituals which is Salah,
and spending and that is benefitting humanity
That’s why Iman and righteous deeds comes together in over a
100 places

If the noun on the form of Superlative denotes the
meaning of colour, any defect in the human body or
sickness then it is NOT regarded as superlative form

Lessons from Surah Baqrah verses 1-3
Best book of guidance, since it’s a guidance we can
only be guided if we understand
Taqwa: Don’t fear Allah how you fear from human
beings. Love Allah and fear will come
Establishing regular prayers includes punctuality
and
khushu
in prayers
Lets not offer Salah to take it off from our shoulders.
Don’t make it a burden on your shoulders
Sustenance here means wealth, time abilities etc

What better use you can make of your time
than to learn the language of the Quran

Don’t forget to ponder over the
meaning from next Salah:

Stop on every Ayah, imagine your response from
Allah and try and build khushu in our Salah.
