The Manufacturing Institute (MI) is the 501(c)3 affiliate of the National Association of Manufacturers focusing on building a resilient manufacturing workforce through workforce development, education, research, and training programs. Their initiatives include reshaping perceptions, building talent pipelines, attracting and retaining talent, and promoting diversity in the manufacturing sector.

Reshaping Perceptions Kicking off on the first Friday in October each year, MFG Day showcases the exciting opportunities of modern manufacturing careers October 6, 2023 www.MFGDay.com Creators Wanted is a perceptions campaign reaching parents, teachers, students and career influencers to manufacturing careers through an immersive experience and digital pathways www.creatorswanted.org
Building Talent Pipelines Military Recruitment: Every year, about 200,000 men and women transition out of the military. Many need assistance finding a new career that utilizes their talents and supports their growth. Second Chance Initiative: One in three Americans currently possess a criminal record, representing a large and untapped labor pool.
Building Talent Pipelines Women account for less than 1 in 3 manufacturing workers, despite representing about half of the overall workforce. Goal: reach 35% female workforce by 2030 through our 35x30 Campaign Create a nationwide movement with 1,000+ female mentors connecting to emerging leaders and students. Drive the opportunity for the industry to collaborate on strategies to attract and retain women in their company. Broaden the pipeline by supporting women throughout their education.
