What is LUCA?
 
Events are organised by sub-committees.
The head of each sub-committee sits on the executive
committee
 
How is LUCA run?
 
The president runs the exec committee and sits on the
board of trustees, along with the Chairperson and other
members
 
How is LUCA run?
 
Club reps sit on the council and can vote on decisions /
policies – the exec has to enact these.
 
How is LUCA run?
 
What is the problem now?
 
Problem 1 – lack of volunteers and council meetings

Lost link between athletes/clubs and LUCA
Not held for a long

Christian and Abhilash have been absolute legends
Events have run but outdoors will be limited to one event
 
 
 
Need more volunteers to keep events going

Alumni club, Motspur AC has loaned £1348 interest free to help
cash flow
Increase in the fees for outdoors
 
Need to address fees across the competitions and seek ways to
reduce overheads
 
Problem 2 – Rising costs, declining income

New bank account is being set up
 
 
Need to establish permanent treasurer
 
Problem 3 – Bank account closed
 
The proposals
 
1) A simplified committee structure
Abolish most specific titles. Strip down to focus on
core offer
 
2) James to return as Chair with a
limited role
 to run the finances
Bank account registered to permanent address.
 
3) Competition fee increases
Events must be profitable to cover overheads and
build reserve

) Increase engagement
LUCA council meetings reinstated, emails, social
media etc.
