THE EARLY MAN
INTRODUCTION Let s start the introduction with interactive questions: Have you wondered how the life of early man was? When do you celebrate your birthday? Yes I know we all know it because we have marked it on the calender. We have a calendar to record, was it same with the early man? What do you think, how he recorded important occassions? Can you understand years based on seasons? Its difficult for us but surprisingly the Early man knew it!
OVERVIEW Life of early man was based on nature. Early man did not have any idea about time. He kept no records of birthdays or holidays. He didn t know about days or weeks or even years, but he kept a track of the seasons. He knew that spring followed winter.

OUR INFORMATIONABOUT THE LIFE OF EARLY MAN IS BASED ON THE REMAINS OF OBJECTS, FOSSILS AND TOOLS THAT HAVE BEEN EXCAVATED FROM DIFFERENT PARTS OF THE WORLD BY THE ARCHAEOLOGISTS.
THE STONE AGE REFERS TO THE MATERIALS USED TO MAKE MAN- MADE TOOLS. IN THE STONE AGE MAN MADE TOOLS WERE MADE OUT OF STONE
THEIR CLOTHES WERE MADE UP OF LEAVES, ANIMAL HIDES (SKIN), GRASS, ETC. THOSE WERE HELPFUL FOR SAVING THEM FROM HOT OR COLD WEATHER.
The ancient man moved from place to place in search of food and water. He ate flesh of animals , fruits, nuts, leaves and roots of plants.
Settlement of The Early Man Early man changed from a hunter and a food gatherer to became a food producer. The early man settlements were close to rivers to fulfill his requirements of water for drinking, irrigation and transportation.
The settled life gave him more time to make better tools, baskets of reeds and clay pots for storing and cooking food grains.
Shelter FOR SAVING HIMSELF FROM WILD ANIMALS, HE STARTED LIVING IN GROUPS AND STARTED SLEEPING ON TREES OR IN CAVES.
Tools Early man started using tools made of bones and ivory. His most useful tool was the spear.
He improved the stone tools by giving them shape and polish. He also started using tools made of bones and ivory.
Discovery of fire Discovery of fire was a milestone in development of human life. He accidently discovered fire by rubbing two stones against each other, that was the invention of fire.
THE GREATEST DISCOVERY OF MAN DURING THIS TIME IS
FIRE FIRE
Fire provided him not only warmth in the cold weather but also safety from wild animals.
After the discovery of fire, he started cooking his food to make it soft and tasty.
