What are Provincial Nutrition Stakeholder Learning Workshops? Provincial Nutrition Stakeholders Learning Workshops are events to share nutrition lessons, skills and experience across different sectors to improve nutrition at Provincial and District levels. Who attends? District and Provincial Government from all sectors, including PNC and DNC, NPAs, INGOs and other groups who work in nutrition at the provincial level. Who organizes? Each workshop requires funding support. Once this is identified (from SUN CSA members so far), the workshop is organized.
Where have there been Nutrition Learning Workshops so far? There has been 8 Provincial workshops so far: 1. Savannakhet October 2020 2. Saravanh November 2020 3. Luang Prabang February 2021 4. Oudomxai March 2021 5. Vientiane Prov March 2021 6. Xieng Khouang March 2021 7. Saravanh March 2021 8. Savannakhet March 2021 There have been around 600 people attend these workshops to share their nutrition experiences.

Key lessons and discussion on Nutrition Some key discussions include: Sharing nutrition tools (LANN GALS etc.) Cross-sectoral cooperation: Agriculture in schools Nutrition in schools WASH for agriculture & in schools Sharing malnutrition statistics Finding solutions to nutrition challenges Build community ownership Improving coordination Reporting research results
Lessons about facilitating the Learning workshops Some lessons from the workshops: Focus presentations on lessons not just what was done, but what was the impact? Allow NPAs to co-chair with government Have presentations from different districts, sectors and projects Panel discussions can be useful to explore topics in detail. Sometimes sectoral group discussions across districts can be useful
Benefits of Learning Workshops Some key benefits of holding learning workshops include: Improves cross-sector convergence Involves all districts to learn from each other Allows CSOs and government to learn together at provincial level Highlights the project and impact of SUN CSA member organisations Encourages harmonization of nutrition approaches
