Options evening Exciting times A look to the future .July 2026 and beyond Opportunity for you to make some choices to study subjects that will help you in the future A Level/BTEC Level 3 in Year 12/13 Higher level apprenticeships/University/Employment What career you want to pursue? High Expectations lead to High Achievers High Expectations lead to High Achievers

  3. SAA Curriculum Curriculum with traditional values Blend of academic and vocational qualifications Wide variety of option subjects Engaging vocational opportunities High Expectations lead to High Achievers

  4. GCSE Government measures Attainment 8 and Progress 8 Combination of grades A*-G and Levels 9-1 scale 9 is the highest 4/5 is the equivalent to a grade C Pupils may be on a GCSE or a level 2 qualification English Baccalaureate (Ebacc) English Maths 2 Science (can include Computing) History or Geography Spanish High Expectations lead to High Achievers

Options evening Many new subject choices on offer e.g. : Business Studies Child Development Hair & Beauty Photography Media Variety of types and levels of courses e.g. GCSE, BTEC, Cam Nat, CACHE, VTCT All our GCSE /Level 2 courses are recognised by 6thForm s and Colleges for onward progression dependant on your choices. Options evening Things to consider: Many 6thforms and colleges will expect you to have at least 5 good GCSE s (grade 4/5) if you want to do A 'Levels or a mix of GCSE s and Level 2 qualifications if you wish to pursue a Level 3 course. Spanish is an incredibly powerful option setting you apart from the crowd! Apprenticeships will expect a Level 4/5 in English and Maths High Expectations lead to High Achievers High Expectations lead to High Achievers

  7. Three Option Choices Choose either History or Geography Choose two further options. Make two choices per option. High Expectations lead to High Achievers High Expectations lead to High Achievers

  8. Do not pick an Option to be with your friends .it is YOUR future not theirs High Expectations lead to High Achievers High Expectations lead to High Achievers

Points to consider when choosing your Option Subjects Find it interesting Enjoy and want to succeed in it Have some skill in the subject Resource requirements/commitments and costs It is at the right level of qualification It is something you might want to study in 6thForm Relates to a career you are interested in English Baccalaureate (Humanities and Language) Select reserve choices in case your selection does not run High Expectations lead to High Achievers High Expectations lead to High Achievers

Points to consider when choosing your Option Subjects Talk to Teachers, Head of Year and Tutors Talk to parents and older students Think about what careers you might be interested in Talk to careers advisor Read the subject information online on our website Career searching on the internet High Expectations lead to High Achievers High Expectations lead to High Achievers
