Key Stage 1 Dance (Year 1 and 2) A space big enough to dance in A space that is safe to dance in Device to record the performance Music (individual track or mixed tracks) Music player Students in Year 1 and Year 2 only Minimum of 2 pupils in each dance Maximum of 10 pupils in each dance Students must only perform in 1 dance (not multiple) Dancers may wear costumes but props are not permitted Costumes are allowed in moderation, however costumes will not be marked Music can be chosen by the pupils or teaching staff Please refrain from using music with explicit language Music tracks can be mixed or can be a single track The maximum number of dances that can be entered per school is 3 Each dance is no longer than 3 minutes based on rhythm, and expressive qualities to show different moods, ideas and feelings. Using motifs to express these moods and feelings Judges will stop judging on the 3 minute mark Travel and stillness (skip, jump, hop,turn, spin, freeze, gallop, bounce) Moods and Feelings (happy, angry, calm, excited, sad, lonely) Different body parts Different directions or pathways (forwards, backwards, sideways) Space (between, through, above) Nature of the movement (fast, strong, gentle) Levels (high, medium, low) You are not required to score this event. Performances should be sent through to your SGO to be judged before the festival entry deadline date. Good luck.
